On our way out in the helicopter, AM sat in front this time, JR & AB in back and this was the first team to exit the mountains; followed a half-hour later by MS, GK and Steve.

MS saw a bear with cubs along the river on the way out. It was raining pretty hard at the helipad and we scrambled to get our gear into the car.

AM & JR spent some time with Steve reviewing maps and gathering G2 for the remainder of our trip. Steve had lots of great suggestions. Amanda, the office manager, was asking about our group, so we directed her to the YG website and asked her if she’d like to be included in the 2006 trip story. AM obliged by taking her picture.

We thanked all for a trip of a lifetime, their wonderful service and excellent staff!!

On the way out the door, the YG was definitely pleased with the trip and there was talk of huge Brook Trout, Fortress Lake Lodge, 100 fish Cutthroat days and the Ram River in the air for the 2007 trip.

Back to David Thompson Resort. The showers felt great, then off to dinner at the restaurant and drinks in the room to celebrate our unbelievable Golden Trout adventure.

On the way to the restaurant we looked up into the mountains, they were totally socked in. The rain was really coming down with mixed snowflakes down at the David Thompson Resort.  One can only imagine what it must like back at 9000 feet in the mountains!

Whew…that was close, had our departure from Michelle Lakes been delayed a couple hours, it would have been impossible for the choppers to fly. We’d have spent a very cold night in the mountains…..without tents! The next morning, the mountains were covered with snow!
